Taken between 4am and 11am today, Wednesday, November 11 from the front of the Holiday Inn on 900 Packer Ave, Philadelphia, PA—the same location that rock trio Mae had their van stolen from just a week earlier—the band lost over $120,000 in gear and merchandise, including one-of-a-kind vintage custom guitars and vintage custom effects. Without a doubt, this is the proudest moment of our carreer. After 3 years of waiting, our new album Wake Up the Sleepers is finally here.

Wake Up the Sleepers is our deepest, most ambitious album. We had a renewed sense of fearlessness and freedom during the writing and recording process that we havent felt since our independent DIY days in Chicago. We took alot of chances, because this is the album that we want to be remembered by.

Wake Up the Sleepers is our statement of defiance against those in the music industry who have been sleeping. Those who have been drifting in a comfortable slumber of OLD methods, OLD business models, OLD routines, OLD bullshit. The music industry is in a state of collapse because it is utterly out of touch with what truly matters to the fans.

Kill Hannah has maintained an intimate connection with a legion of believers around the world for years. -Regardless of trends that have come and gone -regardless of press, radioplay and television airtime.

We went into the studio with a mission. -to carry on the legacy of OUR favorite bands.. (The Cure, Janes Addiction, The Smiths, Smashing Pumpkins, NIN, etc...) to make an album that carves its own niche rather than adhering to any common genre.

Transmission to the Hannahs

After more than a year of writing (mostly while touring in europe) we finally got enough time off the road to start making the album that we've been waiting to make for our entire lives.

We knew we wanted complete control of the production, we knew we wanted to make it in chicago, and we knew what we wanted call it: Wake Up the Sleepers. - statement of affirmation in a music industry that has tragically lost its way.

Rather than spending half a year and half a fortune in an exotic location, we took it back to basics. -the way KH began so many years ago as an indie underground movement.

We called in all our favors, and began tracking for 16hrs a day for 2 months in 4 different studios at the same time.

True to the title, we lived basically like homeless vampires the entire time, and put everything we had into the record.

A lot of good friends lent their efforts as well- amanda palmer, benji madden, shiny toy guns, the birthday massacre, and even the entire chicago children’s choir.

When we finally emerged, we held in our hands a disc with 13 songs that is the proudest accomplishment of our lives.

As a gesture of faith to the fans, and as a symbol of our new label's progressive attitude, we'd like to offer you a first glimpse at the album.

This is New York City Speed -A song of guts and romance inspired by a fateful night I spent attending one of the notorious Motherfucker parties in the Village.

Thank you for your continued belief in us. We want to make you proud. This is our turn.

New Feature – Messages

The commenting system here is nice and simple, but keeping up with various conversations can be difficult.

We have added a messages feature which will hopefully make it much easier to see replies to comments you make. From here you'll also be able to keep track of comments that other users make on your image uploads and posts.

In the Studio

For the last 5 months Kill Hannah has been holed up in the studio writing and recording their follow up to "until there's nothing left of us". The new record (as of yet untitled) is slated for an August '09 release.
A new record means new tours. Kill Hannah will be hitting the road starting in early July '09. More info is on the way....... So stay posted right here as we release more info about the new record and tours!
